New painting - progression

Here's a look at a new painting I'm working on. This is about 5 - 6 hours of work so far. It's still a work in progress.

I've never documented the changes a painting (or any art work for that matter) goes through from start to finish. As an art teacher, real life examples are the best way to explain things to students. I think this kind of documentation is a good example to help explain the artistic process to students. A piece of art doesn't always stay on one path through the process. The art work morphs and changes as the artist goes.
